Drawing properties autocad 2011

Go to Solution. Solved by dougmcalexander. No need for a database edit. You can edit your copied project's Project Properties Defaults and Apply the Project Defaults to all drawings in the project.

Drawing Properties are always active, Project Properties are not. Think of Project Properties as a storage tank for properties that can be applied to all or certain drawings as desired. Thanks Doug! It solved most of my issues. Also while playing with your solution, it also dawned on me that an attribute that is the same on every sheet can also be set up so it can be edited in descriptions and left blank in the drawing properties. Sometimes a hammer against the head helps! Thanks again!

I may be mis-understanding your suggested method here, but I'm wondering how you would deal with the following:. Let's say that accross a project you wanted to change just one text entry in a title line. The rest of the text for that line is unique to each drawing. Is it possible to do this type of global change using AE, without editing each drawing individually at the Drawing Properties level?

Going on the assumption that you have your title block set up properly for use with ACADE, you may get more milage changing the project descriptions and then doing a title block update for the project. This is one of the main features of the project desciptions and title block updates. It allows you to do things like change title descriptions quickly and easily across all dwgs in the project with no problems IF the title block is set up correctly with no need to go to any external database or lisp functions.

Where to turn? The OSOptions command allows you to ignore linework in hatches, ignore negative Z values also handy , or to snap to anything in a hatch exactly where it is. The command works by adding the values: 1 ignores snapping to linework; 2 ignores negative Z coordinates; and the default, being 3, ignores both.

For our project, we changed it to 2, and off we went. If you would rather not snap to hatch linework in concrete and sand patterns, just remember to change it back! Turn it off by setting it to zero , and you will be able to snap to these types of objects.

OSOptions is a bitcode value; that means it uses bits to turn certain functions on and off. Zero is off; a value of 1 ignores hatch objects; and a value of 2 ignores negative Z values. Add them up you get the value of 3 to get both functions.

There are several settings in AutoCAD that function this way. Tipster Andria Lynch sends us a tip that allows users to quickly determine the number of blocks in a file. This shortcut will select all instances of that block — keep in mind that they must be on the same layer. If you glance at your Properties menu while all instances are selected, the pull-down menu at the top of the Properties palette will display in parentheses the number of objects selected.

The Quick Properties box will also display this information with block references. This tool will select all of the items that are similar to the one you picked, according to certain filters. Type SelectSimilar on the Command line, followed by Settings to get to the filter settings. Pick the criteria that you want AutoCAD to follow.

The selected properties must be the same in order for AutoCAD to select similar objects. Our main production version is still The problem is that sometimes I'm not sure which version or profile I was using last.

And if I double-click the file, it might not open in the correct environment. This saves some time, since I don't have to wait for AutoCAD to load with a template, and only then open the desired file. This is a Windows feature that I tend to forget about. Another method you could try is to open AutoCAD and make sure the proper profile is loaded.

Individual columns can be fixed in place so that the rest of the columns can be scrolled through and referenced to a fixed column such as the layer name. Lucid Electronics Workbench 1. Autodesk D Catch 3. UCL Depthmap 0. Members area Download Basket. NET 4. I need to modify the drawing number en section number in the sheet values section of the drawing properties. Is there a way to do it for all the drawings in my project in batch so that all my drawings are modified at once.

If you have AutoCAD Electrical , you can export the drawing properties to an excel sheet, make the changesin the excel sheet, and import the changes back into the project.

Is it possible using a script or lisp routine, if yes I woud need help writing such a script or lisp. This would push that info out to the drawings selected. Notice: updates available for Apache Log4j vulnerabilities. See the security advisory on the Autodesk Trust Center for more information.
